Compare wedding insurance coverage while planning the celebration. Buying wedding day insurance or wedding liability insurance coverage gives couples extra protection.

Taking the time to compare wedding insurance is probably not on most bridal checklists, but it's something that couples should consider together. When planning the details of a wedding day, brides and grooms are thinking about the flowers, the cake and of course, the gown. There's enough on their plate without worrying about what could go wrong. Wedding day insurance offers protection in case something should happen to mar the celebration.

Wedding Reception Insurance

Wedding reception insurance coverage provides couples with a host of options to cover them on the big day:

  • Wedding cancellation insurance provides coverage for a death or illness in the family that postpones the wedding. If a loved one becomes seriously ill, the families have enough on their minds without making the wedding an added stress.
  • Wedding day insurance reimburses the insured for damage to or theft of wedding presents. The example given most often is the gift table crashing- along with all of the valuable crystal and glass gifts.
  • Wedding reception insurance coverage pays out if the weather prevents a wedding from happening. Folks who live in tornado alley know why this coverage is a must-have.
  • Wedding day insurance provides coverage for vendors who don't show, lost or damaged photos and video and damage to the wedding gown. A lot of things can happen that are totally beyond the couple's control; adequate protection should be in place no matter who is responsible for an unexpected accident or emergency.
  • Wedding cancellation insurance also covers military call-up and delayed flights. During wartime and with national security threats at airports, these coverages are both relevant- and timely- today.
  • Wedding liability insurance provides some protection if someone is injured at the wedding. If we can believe what we see on the wildest wedding reality shows, this happens all the time- so wedding liability insurance coverage could come in handy.

Runaway brides- or grooms are not covered by wedding day insurance. Like all insurance, wedding reception insurance protects couples in case something goes wrong. Compare wedding liability insurance policies to find that they typically do not cover cold feet.

Wedding Insurance Policy Costs

Plan to spend anywhere from $150 to over $1,000 on wedding cancellation insurance, depending upon how much coverage is needed. Compare wedding insurance coverage before buying to make sure the right amount of coverage is purchased to protect precious memories. The amount of wedding liability insurance to buy varies widely based on location, cost and how much is spent on additional coverages.

Buy vacation trip insurance and get a generous refund if the honeymoon is cancelled or delayed.
