Compare wedding insurance coverage as you plan for your celebration. Buying wedding day insurance or wedding liability insurance coverage gives you extra protection.

Taking the time to compare wedding insurance is probably not on your bridal checklist- but it's something that you and your intended should consider together. When you're planning the details of your wedding day, you're thinking about the flowers, the cake, the place and, of course, the gown. You'll have enough on your plate without worrying about what could go wrong. Wedding day insurance offers you protection in case something should happen to mar your celebration.

Wedding insurance coverage provides you with a host of options to cover you on the big day:

  • Wedding cancellation insurance provides coverage for a death or illness in the family that postpones the wedding. If a loved one becomes seriously ill, you'll have enough on your mind without making your wedding an added stress.
  • Wedding day insurance reimburses the insured for damage to or theft of wedding presents. The example given most often is the gift table crashing- along with all of the valuable crystal and glass gifts.
  • Wedding insurance coverage pays out if the weather prevents a wedding from happening. If you live in tornado alley, you know why this coverage is a must-have.
  • Wedding day insurance provides coverage for vendors who don't show, lost or damaged photos and video and damage to the wedding gown. A lot of things can happen that are totally beyond your control; make sure you have adequate protection no matter who is responsible.
  • Wedding cancellation insurance also covers military call-up and delayed flights. During wartime and with the ever-present security threats at the airport, these coverages are both relevant- and timely- today.
  • Wedding liability insurance provides some protection if someone is injured at the wedding. If you believe what you see on the wildest wedding reality shows, this happens all the time- so some wedding liability insurance coverage could come in handy.

Runaway brides- or grooms are not covered by wedding day insurance. Like all insurance, wedding cancellation insurance protects you and your loved one in case something goes wrong. Compare wedding liability insurance policies and you’ll find that they typically do not cover cold feet.

Plan to spend anywhere from $150 to over $1,000 on wedding cancellation insurance, depending upon how much coverage you need. Compare wedding insurance coverage before you buy to make sure you know how much you need to protect your precious memories. The amount of wedding liability insurance to buy varies widely based on location, cost and how much you spend on each covered item.

Buy vacation trip insurance and get a generous refund if the honeymoon is cancelled or delayed.
