Freelance writers, whether new or experienced, can make money writing content on the internet without having to spend a dime to do it.

Writers don't have to pay a registration fee or provide credit card information in order to earn money online. There are many legitimate sites that pay writers to write without the need for up front registration payment.

The following is a listing of several sites freelance writers can register with to begin making money online. None of the sites listed below require an administrative or registration fee. They are all absolutely free.

Suite 101.com

Let's get the obvious out of the way first. Suite 101 is a credible established content providing site that pays freelance writers to share their knowledge and expertise through written articles. To become a freelance writer for Suite 101, one must submit a resume and writing samples (no registration fee).

Suite 101 pays monthly once the writer's earnings have reached a minimum of $10.

Buksia.com

Bukisa is a new arrival to the online content arena. Signup is quick and easy. All one has to do is provide a valid email address and set a password. Bukisa's writers are paid on a page view basis. Therefore, the more articles one writes and the more times the articles are viewed, the higher the payment.

Bukisa pays once a month once the earnings have reached a minimum of $50.

eHow.com

eHow is another popular content site. It's especially popular with the "do it yourselfers" looking for instructions on how to do just about anything.

Freelance writers for eHow share their knowledge and expertise in a step-by-step How To format. Signup for eHow Writers Compensation Program (WCP) is free, quick and easy. eHow, similar to Suite 101, pays once a month once the earnings have reached a minimum of $10. Unfortunately, the eHow WCP is limited to US writers only (see how much one writer is earning with eHow).

Demand Studios

Demand Studios, another site available to US writers only, operates under a different model than those sites listed above. Demand Studios pays it's freelance writers on a per article basis and payment is made weekly through PayPal.

Similar to Suite 101, however, writers must provide writing samples in addition to a resume and await approval before they can begin writing for Demand Studios.

Oboulo.com

Totally different from the rest of the sites mentioned here, Oboulo is self entitled "knowledge network." Oboulo pays its writers for articles, thesis, business documents and more.

The sign up process is nothing more than providing a valid email address and creating a password. Once the account is set up, freelance writers can submit quality documents to Oboulo for payment. Upon approval, writers are paid within approximately two weeks.

Summary

This is not a comprehensive list of online content providers that pay freelance writers. If a site requires a writer to pay a registration fee or an administrative fee, consider it a red flag. Do a little more research before spending money to make money.
